Gin 50/50 with ginger beer was tonight's decent experiment. Was cheap gin so not really wasted.

Re: When was your last day without any drinks?

My Dad took me to the pub regularly from about the age of 13 and my mum used to buy me beers for the weekend about the same age. Once I got to 16 I had some level of tolerance and going to the pub with my mates was hilarious cos they had only just started drinking at all.

That makes the pleasure an obligation, which sucks. Depends whether its can''t or won't. Can't is bad, but ...

Re: Gin and Coke???

Only one way to know ... I'm heading for the fridge for some coke and gin. Just a sec .... hhhhm ... wow ... the gin kind of vanishes behind the coke. When you think about whats in the two it makes sense. Coke is flavored with botanicals just like gin. Don't knock it till you try it ... not as bad ...

Re: Glenfiddich 18yo and Balvenie Signature Whisky

Your tastes seem to oppose mine (the peatier the better for me) but Geln 18yo is good still.

I find it hard to taste the lighter styles...but that 18yo is decent.

Re: A toast...

...To the least pretentious drink forum I've found. I'm new here and I don't care if the snobs think Old Crow is "too simple" to be sipped neat; that's not the damned point! Then again, I can always appreciate a George Dickel or Woodford...on the rare chance I can spend so much. :) I'll drink a Bud...
