Oh, I'm not really complaining. I wouldn't want to be drunk at work (my job is clerical, btw, but because the same code of practice applies to me as applies to the gentlemen on the Control Floor, I'm saddled with alcohol restrictions) - it's just that because I start at about 7:30am, I can't really ...

Random BAC tests ... at work.

At my new job working for a government railway department they don't allow more than 0.02 in your system. There are random tests. Last year thirty five employees tested positive.

I live in Western Australia. Statistically, I believe the Irish are the hardest drinkers, but the Northern Territority in Australia possesses the most beer consumption per head of population.

The US president doesn't need to be drunk. He can't put together sentences as it is.

(Apologies to those who voted for him. I assume there are actually some people who did ...)

Hel's own Porter.

I have had a few fine Porters, but my first, I shall never forget. It was, without any doubt, the foulest brew I have ever tasted. Anything fortified from wine. Port, brandy, sherry, etc. And red wine tastes ok to me, but it does nothing for either my head or my teeth. I am infamous for getting black teeth from only one or two glasses of red.

Old bluesmen. Leadbelly, Robert Johnson (especially "I Believe I'll Dust My Broom"), Muddy Waters ...

Or Neil Young - preferably the stuff he wrote after Danny Whitten died, or the "After the Goldrush" album.

I don't mind the beer being slightly less cold, but I don't think I like the idea of it being less carbonated.
