Re: Great drinking oriented movies

Damn, this is an old thread.

Sorry for upping it, but I had to add Bad Santa to this. Even Bad Santa 2, which wasn't as good, but at least they didn't make him some reformed dry square. I watch it every Christmas; it's a TRADITION!

Re: What are you drinking right now?

Some really good Mescal.

My coworker found out I had never had any before and brought some into work to share. Why, because we are in the advertisement & journalism industry and of course we drink during the day and have a liquor cabinet in our office.

Re: Your day in a nutshell. Share please.

Woke up to check MDM and saw a message that I had been permanently banned. Of course, since I got blackout drunk the night before, thought, "Damn. I must have gotten fucking rowdy last night." Tried the site on TOR and got the same message, and figured it was just a forum problem, which it was. Whe...

Re: Who here's married to a non-drinker?

I dated a vegetarian for five years. That was hellish. But she drank like a skid row whore so it all sort of balanced out. I suppose the important thing isn't whether or not your wife drinks, but whether or not she is tolerant toward your drinking. Should any problems arise, at least you know you c...

Re: Who here's married to a non-drinker?

How does she deal with your stumbling drunkeness? Just curious I had a friend that was with a semi drinking woman and he snored like hell and pissed himself when drunk. She forced him out the bed on weekends. He ruined the couch with piss though Hey, I'm a professional. I have yet to piss on anythi...

The phrase "your last drink" sounds like a horrifying nightmare.
It sounds like a death bed request.

Hell, that's all it should ever sound like.

Who here's married to a non-drinker?

I'm still trying to get to know everyone here, but a few people seem to have spouses that are also a part of the drinking community. Is anyone unfortunately coupled with a non-drinking straggler on the road to personal discovery? While I come from a long line of drinkers, the lovely wife sadly prefe...

I think we're on different sides of the planet, but I was up at 3 in the morning, Eastern U.S. time. Hopefully you had a drink to keep you company.

Re: Comfort Drinks

The now discontinued Pikesville Rye, white label. It was an old Maryland-style recipe (supposedly) that was still kept in stock in Maryland stores and a few Baltimore bars. It was a perfect doorway rye for newbies and the unfamiliar. Light, floral and great for Manhattans. And Christ the cost was in...

Re: The real victims of the California earthquake

The Jim Beam fire hurt my goddamn heart, my coworker and I had a Maker's Mark shot in its memory. All that whiskey, quietly aging and asleep in its barrel, barely even 4 years old. Never had a chance, killed in its sleep.

...Jesus, this metaphor just got incredibly dark.

Re: An Independence Day Toast, 2017

Finished all the good ol' American Rye whiskey and moved on to Tequila because why not? If you're coming over the border all I ask is that you bring a bottle: Tequila or Mescal from the south, or Canadian whiskey from the north. Let's all gather around the hearth, share painful stories, acknowledge ...

Watching these two get steadily drunker is both admirable and inspirational. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3n5Pk8fkLg And let's not forget, Rihianna -- pop music's last great unrepentant drunkard -- did pen the great modern drunkard anthem, " Rihanna - Cheers (Drink To That) " LOL, meh, I love R...

A nice cup of Yorkshire Tea.

After 6.00 pm it'll be Greenall's Gin and Tesco Tonic - lots of it.

Bung Ho!
Wow, you can wait till 6.

That's god-level discipline
