Re: European membership referendum

Although speaking from a Labour perspective a lot of that is dependent on whether or not Jeremy Corbyn is still leading the party. or perhaps which Labour party Jeremy Corbyn is the leader of I think the split won't happen. Or at least I hope it wont. It would be a catastrophic failure, a failure t...

Re: European membership referendum

now the big question, will it really happen, ie. which politician will be left to pull the plug now they've all resigned The Conservative Party would implode if it didn't execute article 50. What I think might happen though is at the next General Election, whenever that is, the Conservative Party w...

Re: European membership referendum

Not sure how the European Union could be considered a Nanny State. You'll find that most of our excessive regulation or punitive "sin taxes" come from HM Government. To refer to Eurocrats as fascists is a gross failure to understand what fascism actually is. Last time I checked none of my fellow cou...

Re: Smokers Corner

Great collection! I detect a Savinelli signature free hand in the foreground. Have one very similar which has been a close friend for 25yrs. Unfortunately not, It's a Ben Wade freehand probably early 80s when Preben Holm was at the helm. To be honest though i'm not massively into the freehands, I l...

You'll be disappointed to hear It doesn't have a tourist shop. It's essentially a car park with a plaque.

Re: Cheers to the Brexit!

We've taken back our country, i'm just trying to work out who we've taken it back from. Some people would have you think that Britain has been a dystopian puppet-state since 1975. Since Ol' Harold asked the British people to join the EEC. This obviously isn't the case, we had the freedom to access 2...

Re: Liquor and the Tobacco Pipe

I've a got a few pipes in boxes and draws elsewhere. I generally don't count anymore, I just know I need to get another pipe rack. There are a few tobacconists in the City where you can sit down and smoke, I don't like to do too much lunting (the act of walking whilst smoking a pipe), you see a lot ...

So I guess no one finds this to be particularly naive.

Oh and by the way it's 'Huzzah'.

Re: Liquor and the Tobacco Pipe

That's actually an old German Meerschaum. Probably made in the early 19th century, maybe even before 1871. They called it a "Kalmasch". I'm not sure what that means. I've smoked it once, massive bowl. I need to send it off to get a new stem made, neaten up the silverwork et cetera. I'm just afraid i...
