Re: Sund

A long and slow Sunday now that the sun itself has actually returned. Took the kayak out on the ocean with a few beverages stowed in the (as it turns out, not) watertight storage compartment. It’s quite hard to paddle with a beer balanced between your legs, best option is just to forsake all attempt...

Re: Do y'all ever order Grubhub?

Personally can't see the appeal in paying $20 for a lukewarm kebab delivered by a rudderless drifter in a '98 Hyundai Excel but, y'know, that's just me... Yeah the type that probably took an unnoticed bite or ate some of your french fries on the drive over lol. And he probably saved up a long time ...

Re: Do y'all ever order Grubhub?

Uber Eats is all the rage here. Personally can't see the appeal in paying $20 for a lukewarm kebab delivered by a rudderless drifter in a '98 Hyundai Excel but, y'know, that's just me...

Re: Please define "Irish pub"

Irish pubs seem quasi-legitimate here as almost everyone white person in Aus seems to have some sort of ancestral tie to the green land, myself included. Pubs seem to be defined by headache inducing carpet and an insidious damp. Needs more smoke though for true authenticity (wait, can you still smok...

Re: Favorite Drinking Destination and Why?

Vietnam. Beer is generally $1-2 as is common through SE Asia, but in Hanoi they have something called 'bia hoi' (from memory), or 'fresh beer'. Basically it's beer brewed locally and delivered to roadside stalls on a daily basis, sold for around 30c a glass. It's brewed for immediate consumption and...

I once got drunk and pulled my nose hairs out by pinching them with my fingers. I do not recommend this.
I do this daily. Reminds me that I’m alive.

Re: Drinks you cannot stand

Warm beer from a plastic bottle is something very special I may be in the minority who love beer in a plastic bottle, provided it exceeds 750ml or 35oz, whatever the equivalent is. No pissing about with taste or quality, it’s just an invitation to chug and buzz in the least amount of time possible....

Oettinger pilsner
Wow, it actually exists in Germany. I thought it was just a marketing sham ‘German’ beer exclusively for australian market

In the same vein, some tall cans of Henninger pils. Not so good, bar the price

Another to add to the low end: Rolling Rock. Wish it was available here. 100% no frills but done to perfection.

As a drunkard you agree to plumb the depths of experience both good AND bad. Nothing is for free and everything must be paid back. Let the drinks roll and sign that great, cosmic invoice in the morning. Beautiful! This should be the prayer that starts the meeting for every Alcoholics Unanimous grou...
