The other theory on picking a destination is that instead of going somewhere that's inherently fun we could go to the most boring place we can think of and turn it into a party, somewhere like Omaha, Norman, Saginaw, or Boise. A challenge? Now that's an idea. How about Des Moines, Iowa? I can't thi...

Money is super-tight for me, so I'd have to save up. But I could do Vegas too. Same here, that's why I suggested Milwaukee as my #1 choice. Compared to the other excellent locations that have been mentioned, this one is definetly the most inexpensive. Regardless, I'll do my best to make it wherever...

Perhaps two cities, one in this hemisphere. And one to kick off the UK edition in Scotland (since most of the non-Americans seem to be Scottish or Irish or Northen Irish.) We could network and use webcams and such to have them connected. That's a great idea. I liked the ambassador idea as well. Thi...

Rocko, Another great brewery from the area is the Tyranena Brewery (Lake Mills, WI). If you can get you hands on one of their tasty beverages I would highly recommend it. They've only been brewing for a couple of years so they may not enter many beer competitions. I haven't had a beer by them yet th...

I'm glad to see New Glarus brewery did well in the competition. They really brew some outstanding beers. My favorites by them are "Fat squirrel" (brown nut ale) and "snowshoe" (red ale) which apparently didn't make the judge's cut. I haven't had "enigma" yet but I'll be sure to look for it. Their f...

Does anyone remember Boone's Farm? I drank that swig in junior high. Apple. Do they make it anymore? As far as I know they do. Of course I haven't actively looked for the stuff in a long long time. I always bought boone's farm strawberry hill (I think that's the right name of it). Basically, a 40oz...

I spent 5 years in the USMC. The experience got me out of my home town and allowed me to visit places and met some really good friends that I would not have if I hadn't enlisted.

Like Pinky said above, Japan is a drunkard's paradise. I spent many fine months in that wonderful country.

Man, talk about pissing tracers. Be able to write a name in the snow and then watch it glow. Reminds me of a funny bar story. When I was in graduate school I used to volunteer for research studies for extra $$. One study they injected this dye into my bloodstream so that they could study the rate o...

I think I'll join you all in a few drinks in honor of the man in black.

We all knew he was sick and this was coming but I still felt a little shock this morning when I heard the sad news.

Thank you Johnny for a lifetime of excellent music, you will be missed.

You know, that's not far from the truth. I've been involved in several fine conversations at liquor stores, bars, etc. Some of these people I would listen to over a therapist any day. Our friend alcohol brings out the philosopher in all of us. I just wish I could follow or even remember some of the ...

So sad I almost cried

I apologize for paraphrasing DPAW on such a sad topic but here goes... I was at the local liquor super store (Woodman's) buying beer and a bottle of Jack which is usually my Friday routine to celebrate the opening of the weekend. I was in the rum and vodka aisle browsing for my next conquest when I ...

Protein Shot Sharply Cuts Appetite

This is an actual headline from MSNBC.com. The article is actually about the development of a diet pill but I found the title amusing. I know its off the usual subject(s) but I had to share it. I have included the address if you want to actually read the article for whatever reason. http://www.msnbc...

Frankennietzsche,
I thought the US already nuked Louisville following that zombie attack in the mid-eighties?

Sorry for the Return of the Living Dead reference but I couldn't help myself.
