Re: Getting high

By the way Mr Viking, you must have been really drunk/high when writing the original post. I applaud you for that. Too bad I can't make it to Belfast, but whenever my business trips take me to Glasgow, I'll let you know.

Re: What do you drink when you're on a budget?

There is already a thread on this subject in TAOGH. 'When you have 20 dollars' or something in that line. Check it out. It's not hard to get loaded on 10 bucks, but personally, without money, I would start looking for a job. After all work = money = booze.

Re: Boozy's wine thread - the sequel

Dear Boozy, about fifteen years ago I was on holliday in Extremadura in Spain (with my then blond goddess, not with my current redhead, mind you) and when I ordered 'copa de jerez' they served me 'vino de jerez' instead of fino. Now, it was a fine aperitif wine that I got, but definitely not sherry....

Re: Training for CCC

This looks really great, Boozy. Malaga, and Andalusia (Chien! Andalusia!) in general is a great place to enjoy a good drink. Did you make some new discoveries on the wine/sherry front?

Re: Election Night

I hope that you all have made your liquor purchases in advance, for tomorrow, there is no booze until the polls close (in your area). What!??? You have to be fucking kidding? You are the number one country in the world and you don't allow booze during voting time? I have never voted undrunk, I tell...

Re: Is there any truth...

In all honesty, this is just a myth (where are the myth busters when you need them). Your body reacts to alcohol, and the total amount of alcohol in your blood is what counts, not where it comes from. Of course, when you have several different drinks, you probably wil drink a lot, and for the non-tr...

Question for Peetie: do you know about the Take 5 Jazz/Blues Club in Lommel? Do you have a gig planned there?

Re: Boozy's wine thread - the sequel

Well, Mr Viking, I feel like you should start your Mr Viking's whisky thread. That said, I am a bit puzzled by your statement that you can't find a decent white wine below 10£, but are able to enjoy a 5£ fino. In my experience, it is just the opposite. Agreed, as Boozy said in the original wine thre...

Re: Boozy's wine thread - the sequel

Mr. Viking wrote:I'm inclined to agree. Sill prefer corks on whisky even though there is no practical benefit. Practical, mind, that's the sticking point
Mr. Viking, slightly off topic, what would be your favourite whiskies? And then, on topic, can you share your thoughts on your favourite wines?

Re: Boozy's wine thread - the sequel

what do you make of screw caps? I much prefer corks, but as a matter of practicality for table wines I think it just makes sense. Well, from a romantic side I tend to prefer the cork, and a gentleman should be able to uncork a bottle in a gentle though manly manner, but when travelling a screw cap ...

Savage is Grace Slick

OK, Savage, maybe you are too young, but in my wildest fantasies I imagine you to have been a hippie singer and have now retired to your quiet home in California where you are preparing Halloween. But you can sing, can't you?

Slightly off topic, but I'm a big Tom Waits and Gavin Bryars fan. Peetie, did Tom sing this during his s*ober period or during his drinking days?
