Yeah he does but I've never been there for it. Where do you live? I moved north recently so it's a bit of a road trip now for me as well. I guess all the best historical places are in the middle of nowhere now.

Another good place like that was Shari's Roadhouse until it closed last year. It was the only place around here that would still let you smoke inside, and the popular place to go after either a good or bad day at the casino down the street.

CF...
Well I guess god rest all the good California honky tonks. I live up north in the foothills, near Nevada. Originally from the Bay Area and used to love trips down to Trout's and Oildale in general. Always a good time.
I can't be your kind, and you can't be mine. Cos I've got wine... on my mind... all the time. -Johnny Paycheck

MD 20/20 An American friend turned me on to this stuff and I loved it I haven't had it for years though....must find it again.

He and I used to spend hours on the telephone talking about anything and everything and drinking wile we were doing it. Like every 10 minutes or so one of us would be saying "hold on let me just put the phone down while I mix another drink"........sound of pouring...then "I'm- back". Ah they were good times I miss that guy, I think he's dead now.......sadly.
I'm not an alcoholic, I'm just passionate about alcohol ; )

The only good reason there could be to fortify the wine would be the opportunity for drunkards to break down the walls.
"I never want to go to bed if there are still beers in the fridge, but then I am always hopeful that there are beers left in there when I wake up.". Thirstydrunk.

"We all look for happiness, but without knowing where to find it: like drunkards who look for their house, knowing dimly that they have one." Voltaire

"The prince of darkness is a gentleman." Shakespeare.
