3. Voddy & Tonic
4. Brandy & soda (tasty old-school cocktail)
5-10 anything else & soda

Man, I could go for a Knob Creek manhattan right now.

Gin McGuinness wrote:ok... I have to ask. What's with the Singapore Sling that has folks turned on? I've had them - in fact had them at the very hotel where they were born and find them just way too sweet.
I should probably clarify that I enjoy a Singapore Sling made by my own hand, as there are many people out there who will sweeten this to the point where it tastes like Rainbow Bright's used panties steeped in Strawberry Shortcake's tears. The reason I like a well made Singapore Sling is that it works out to be a slightly more interesting take on Gin and Lemonade. It's refreshing as hell, and can sneak up on since one can easily drink four or five without giving it a second thought.

The mescal on the side is a tribute to Hunter S. Thompson's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and is a tasty addition if you are looking for a night of serious mischief.

Below is the recipe I follow it is slightly different from the hardcore Original, but it is true to the accepted version in most bars:

I tend to go for a pint glass size where I double the below amounts.

splash Grenadine
1 oz Gin (or a bit more as is my liking)
2 oz Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice (using sour mix will give you the aforementioned diabetes elixer)
2 barspoons of sugar
1 oz Cherry brandy (avoid cherry-flavored brandy. If you can not find cherry brandy use Kirsch instead.)
Carbonated water

I shake the first 4 ingredients vigorously over ice until the bar sugar is dissolved. Then I add the soda, give a stir and float the brandy. Cherry and an orange slice if you're into garnish.

You are A: Talking to a deleted post. and B: Not talking about the same FSU. You must be talking about Florida State University or something. Thats fine. There's a horrible street gang that went mainstream with the lame fratboys in Boston called FSU (Fucking Shit Up). They were muscle bound asshole hardcore guys that would beat people they didn't like nearly to death in some circumstances. Super lame Boston hardcore kids still claim the gang, like its cool. Obviously a misunderstanding. And, I'll take a rum and coke, thanks.
Thanks for clarifying...I'll take a rum and coke as well.
