Good question, Grouse vs Grant's. I would probably go Grouse, but I do enjoy my Grant's too. You, thinking about it, you really can't go wrong here.

also on Powers... excellent. It's a clear hidden gem. It's probably the Evan Williams of Irish Whiskey.

I haven't drank a whole lotta either of them, but I'd go with grants. Personal preferences at these endeed.

I haven't had powers in quite some time but I still do have some recollection of it and it rocked balls

i'm extremely jealous of all you scotch connoisseurs. i'm almost embarrassed to admit that the only scotches i've ever tried to date are blended, johnny walker red and black, dewars, chivas regal, and j&b. damn i have to expand my horizons soon, if money will ever allow.
into each life a little stroh's must fall - surreal

i told my landlord and all the other tenants they could fuck off if they don't like hank- hellbound glory

Also outta blends if I haven't said this before, which I am not sure of because I post so often while blackout .

Ballantine's with soda is quite a fine drink or just ballantine's alone.

Tho I do prefer it mixed with soda.

My hausfrau got me a bottle of oban 14 year for christmas.. being more of a bottom shelf guy i dismissed it till the other day when i found myself oot of drink. Not bad straight from the bottle. i ended up killing it in one night. different kind of buzz scotch is. probably stick with brokers and potters but glad to have tried something new.

Scotch gives me an extremely mellow buzz, and it creeps up quickly. That might however be, because I consider Scotch and meal, therefore I only drink it on a fairly empty stomach, and 2), I suppose I am mellow because I only drink it when I am in a good mood, aka I can afford the good stuff.

Agree bigtime. the Grouse did that to me a little while ago. Drank a boatload and was fine, and literally, five minutes after boldly proclaiming my undrunkenness, I was all over the fucking place. It was a fun moment.

bang for the buck, Ballantines is a great blend and no need to buy JW red if you got a handle of Ballantines available.

Cragganmore, saw a Signatory bottling for $57.00. Is it any good? I've always seen it but never tried it.

Yep, really excellent single malt, but not as pitty as most of them. Different flavour, rather complex I'd say. It's one of those I really like anyway.
