Hi I'm new but I've reading the posts for a while, I would just like to give a hearty hello to everyone and say how glad I am that a place such as this exists
Anyways I have a question for people:
Say you have only 12 dollars for the entire evening (and day), or whatever one's foreign equivelant is, what do you buy?
Persnally I would hit up Trader Joe's and get five bottles of Charles Shaw, 3 merlot and 2 cab sav.
or maybe a sixpack of full sail amber and two bottles of Charles Shaw merlot, and if I had some spare change, the sav blanc
12 dollars to happiness

US$12 = 3,000 Hungarian Forint.
So I would buy:
1 litre of hazi-pálinka (home-made clear fruit brandy 60% ABV).. 1,200HuF
2 packs of smokes.................................................................. 680HuF
3 bottles of robust red............................................................ 1,050HuF
Job done to everyone's satisfaction.

Good choice. I'll go with either this or a case of schlitz, pbr, blatz, etc...Frankennietzsche wrote:In thinking of this, I think I'll change my order to a fifth of Old Overholt.

24 pack of Miller High Life at the beer distributor at 25th and Girard, North Philadelphia ... $10.50. Six bags of chips for $0.25 at the Sunoco at 25th and Poplar. And then its a party.

shit back home with 12 bucks you could almost get 2 thirty packs of the beast. if you return the empty thirty pack from yesterday you could even buy some .22 shells and spend the night drinking cheap beer5 and shooting rats at the dump from the tailgate of your 1979 ford pickup. ahhhh..... memories.

How unforgiveably rude of me. I didn't say welcome.
My sincere apologies. Allow me to do it now.
Welcome Captain Mullocked, I hope you have a grand time with us. I look forward to seeing you around.
Please, pull up a drink and make yourself at home.

Good choice my friend. I had forgotten about our faithful compatriot, 211.
Up at school we would drink that all the time. I don't know about prices though, at the local rite-aid we could purchase it for 1.79 which I believe comes to about 5 forties. That's 200 oz. of 8.1 percent lager at about 10 dollars, it is a beautiful thing
