Whatever happened to fdoosey, Shmoo, Rowdy Drunk, Combat Rock and Uncle Sal (amongst others)? Does anyone Stateside have a means of contacting them and asking them to come back to play with us?

They wouldn't be the first.

I ran into Combat Rock a few times at the Magnolia Bar. He got his degree, moved from Indianapolis to Louisville and got a job in the Free Public Library system and then I lost track of him. Taht was a few years ago.

There kinda is, we call it Skype (or sometimes Gerald, if we are feeling coquettish)...

It is interesting (to me, anyway) which members of this lovely club have stayed on, and which have bailed, changed their address and name, had the whole Men in Black removal thing... I came here from a very XY beer joint, new to the internet I was, and the other joint I fell into was a very femalecentric gang.

More to the point; Johnny T's lunchbreak has lasted for nearly 10 years, now.

How shocking it will be to him when he finds the FAX machine has moved down the hall.

How much more shocking if there is any truth to this report that, "The 'quick pint' is dying"!

And how much stranger it will be if this story is true*.

*Although, if anyone were up for the job of "Guinea Pig" testing it, and surviving, I would have to put my money on Johnny T.

On the other hand they still don`t serve alcohol in fast-food joints here in germany. Today I avoid them like the plague but in younger years we often went for a late night snack and always brought our own hooch, because lets face it these syrup based sodas are unbearable with some extra punch. I remember the time when me and a friend went to McDonalds as rain started to pour and didn`t order anything but left 20 empty beer cans on the table
Drink!
