Do you drink your pernod straight?

In the summer I pack a pernod flask and buy a bottle of water when I feel the need for a refreshing beverage.

I think I have some Old Heaven Hill left in one of them. I usually load up a couple before going to the movies. Leisure time and escapism means I need booze.

I maintain only a work flask w/peppermint schnapps. Nearly 3 years on the job and my bosses only think I have an obsession with lifesavers (though I haven't bought lifesavers in, like, 10 years).

I've thought of maintaining a bar flask to cut down on the cost when going out and drinking since drinks get pricey and none of the bars I go to have the good stuff, anyway, but I have yet to make that move. That flask would be bulleit bourbon, though.

That can be dangerous, at least in bars around here. It'll get you thrown out, your flask confiscated and maybe the cops called if they decide not to trounce you.

I usually pack a flask to bars for smoke breaks/ the walk to the nearest all night diner; where I mix up some rye and 7's when the waitress has her back turned.

I used to have a regular old-style steel flask, 8 oz. It always had some kind of bourbon in it. Notably, it was with me when I hiked with my brother and a couple friends to the bottom of the grand canyon. I gave it to a young friend of mine because he's underage and needs something to sip from at rock shows and stuff.

Last time I saw him though, he had put tequila in it... ugh. Oh well, at least it's getting use.

Speaking of this, it makes me want to get a new flask. What's the best deal?
