That's a bottle of the lowered proof that got shipped out before Maker's reversed their decision.

I think blends often get overlooked when it comes to whisky tasting. Black bottle is a fairly assertive Islay blend, but with a deal of complexity. Teacher's highland cream is similarly well made, but toned down a bit, without the peat, but with a lovely spiciness that is found in the good highland malts

Ok, I just had my first sip of the Corry. Oh,yes. That is truly an amazing Islay. I believe this will remain a fixture in my humble cabinet.

I remember saying that, I just picked up a bottle of the Corry fromn KLwines a few weeks ago, it was about the same price. I rightfully jumped on it.

Corry tastes like a railroad tie smells on a hot August afternoon. Truly heaven.

two recent acquisitions, the former Bar casino is no more, sold that house and moved into a new one, which would explain the change in background, but anyway,

that's a good one. Probably worthy of it's own thread.

For the record, I'd go Ardbeg over Lag, but Laph Cask Str over both.
The Madrid airport recently had Cask Strength for €36/liter -- that's what I'd pay at my local supermarket for 700ml of regular, 10yo Laphroaig.

I picked up one liter but I shoulda got more.
looking through some of the posts here, and I got the cask strength Laphroig in an airport somewhere in the south of spain in 2011 but it cost me €40.
Must have been the same batch

It's below most of what you have in your bar. It's like a Glenmorrangie with less personality.
