i saw an article from the ny times about premium vodkas that blind taste tested a bunch of them, with regular smirnoff red as the benchmark - smirnoff came top.

was a bartender for the best three thousand years of my life. did a blind taste test with The Redhead once with several different "qualities" of vodka...she nailed it, got all five exactly right. she's gifted, though.

personally, i like ketel one, because it tastes like something. premium quintuple-distilled vodkas are for people who don't like the taste of booze. that they have to pay a lot for it makes sense to me.
