Akvavit

Post by ivan » Mon Feb 25, 2013 6:02 pm

I've been on a bit of a kick lately. The Scandinavians are on to something.

Best drink ever for Skyrim, too.

Yeah, it's in the "weird shit from around the world" section. In the back, liqueurs aisle.

Personally, I have always liked it, but then I have always liked liquorice/aniseed flavoured drinks.

I keep getting these little bottles of Dad's Knightly Haircut (I think it's called that?) from a very old and rich Austrian woman who would visit my tribe's Bingo and offer gifts she'd taken the bother to smuggle over for us.

Here's a pic, (with color for you, Mr. Viking, ya basterd)

Indeed, and then some other shit I'm still trying to find out what it means. That's a good idea before you chug a tiny bottle of skunk piss, right??

I had some Swedish stuff that was aged in Sherry casks. It had a nice taste and had some color to it.

I think the only time I ever had it was (10+ yrs ago) from a friend's dad's liquor cabinet where it had been sitting untouched for about 20 yrs. Most of the label was worn off and what was there was largely in Russian, except the part that said you could "substitute for whiskey, gin or vodka in any drink." It tasted heavily of caraway and it was delicious.
