Your favorite flask packer

Post by shawnonious »

So, out of curiosity, what is your favorite drink to carry in a flask? Consider, we must place some general assumptions on it so we don't get any cheaters on here. First off, we must assume that the drink is good warm. Flasks hug the hip, and pick up body heat. In the summer, the drink gets HOT. In the winter it's still warmed by your body. Second, it must be liquor-level drink. Nobody's going to get drunk off a flask of wine.

So, what then, do you all carry in your flask?

I'm partial to gin. I've always found that its flavor opens up and becomes even better when it's room temperature or above. It makes the perfect flask carry, in my opinion. And I feel like the smell and floral notes of that could save your ass, somehow.

Whiskey. Any kind of whiskey. It'll save you on a boring day, cheer you up when you wake up next to a fat ugly lady or bacchus forbid a metalhead who pissed his pants...

I usually flask-it with pint-sized bottles. Vodka, whisky, rum everything and anything goes long as it has some volume to it.

As a connoisseur of vodka, I have to say whisky. Any. Vodka in a flask resembles the dentist`s office. Especially warm.

Bushmills Black Bush "Special liqueur Whiskey" as they used to call it

Or Whin (that is, half whisky, half gin)

Black rum is also good, preferably overproof, especially if planning to share

An additional question. The home-page of MDM has the link to the store. In the image for that link, it mentions flasks. I can't seem to find any on there. I would proudly sport a MDM flask.

I don't actually own a flask (although I'd like to find a really nice one), but if I want to smuggle some alcohol in somewhere, I just top off a Pepsi bottle with rye. Me and my friends do that all the time! lol

Johnny walker black. Not that I fill my flasks up much. I ordered an mdm one with my subscription, it's still sitting in my drawer. I meant to take it with me last time I went to NZ but forgot.

Cane flasks. I remember visiting a stall at Portobello Market in the 90s that sold a dizzying array of such. All manner of walking sticks, mostly metal topped, with boiler tube sized screw top flasks concealed inside. I think they were only ten quid. Would have made going for a walk fun.

Whin? Absolutely fascinating!

I'm boring, any blended scotch.

On a scale of Appletini to Bullshot, how good is it? My interest is piqued, but I'm still not sure if this is a long-con.
