Tampa vacation trip.

Post by Patchez » Thu Jun 21, 2018 7:44 pm

When we arrived supplies were dangerously low. Just these brought from home. Room in the Rav 4 was an issue.

Image

A quick trip to the Publix helped with some reinforcements.

Image

By the next morning the kids had arrived with the rest of the home brought.

Image

I had gone for some artillery support.

Image

The flag was hoisted, Frank some 3x5 footers would be awesome.

Image

Other hopefully not necessary but nice to know details were sorted out on the way back from the last booze run.

Image

Then things got....weird.

Yeah really Patchy. Could you have found a smaller flag?! At least you could put the one in the fridge outside to keep the napkin company.

Evidently there doesn'tappear to be a very good beer selection...HA. No really, it looks amazing! What's the fruit flavored can in your hand?

Thanks for sharing the pics. Looks like a great time and I'll bring you some double D size coconuts from my own collection that you can rock in Vegas.
How can it be so cold in here? It's like Greenland in here. We've got to get some booze. It's the only solution to this intense cold. Something's got to be done. We can't go on like this. - Withnail

Bring three sets. One for me, one for oett and one for you. The wife can wear the ones we already have.

Is that Gelato beer? Or is it an alchopop? Looks like a nice selection of craft beer. Pricey?

The napkin outside was the fridge flag. The one from my wall behind me in Skype.

For AD and CB the beer is a Strawberry Lemon Gelato from South County, A pale ale with a bunch of fruit in the primary fermentation and a lot of complimentary hops varieties. A touch of vanilla been in it to soften is up a bit and make it creamy. Fucking amazing.

CB it is a bit pricey but it's well worth it.

Woodchuck Granny Smith cider?!?!?

I used to love the regular stuff they made.
I was also a big fan of a shot of Jim Beam rye in the dark and dry variety they made.

The story continues.
Beer at the pier right up the road from the rental house. Fishing as well. Rod and Reel if anyone is down that way.

The next day was for going to pick up the newlywed couple Tim and my daughter Alley. While we waited for the flight to arrive at 9 at night we went to breweries at around noon. Highlights to follow.

Coppertail.

You could watch the canning operation through the window.

Cigar City Brewing

Loading in more whiskey barrels for Barrel Aged goodness.

Only one pic from Tampa Brewing Co. as I was unimpressed. The food was good, a bit over priced but it was in Ybor so.. I did dig the water bottle brought to the table.

Image

Last stop was 81 Bay. This pace was cool as fuck. The wall mural was 3d and computer generated. Looks like you were in the sharks mouth.

Open mike night that night. Ukulele band was killing it.

Those beers look phenomenal. I am all about the samplers. You forgot to include a dolphin pic though. ;D

That bar looks way too neat and clean. If I can't smell mildew and piss from a half block away, it's too high class for me.

I think you are selling yourself short Hugh. Some of this small micro breweries are pretty pro be yourself and accepting. Plus they just have some neat shit going on and great beers. You oughta at least give 'em a shot.
