The price for a handle of WT 101 at my local CVS is $43. A handle of Gran Legacy is $12. I know some of you guys love your whiskeys, but there's just no way in hell I could justify paying that much more for name brand whiskey.

BTW, my local CVS no longer carries Kessler. :(

I'll check next time I'm there, but there are not very many handles above the bottom shelf. I noticed that the WT 101 handle was the only bottle that size on the shelf above my stuff.

$25.99, more than double the price of Gran Legacy.

How often do you drink whiskey? I notice some of your posts just mention beer, but most also mention you drink whiskey with it too. For the last few months I'd been drinking whiskey everyday (rotgut of course) and I ended up feeling terrible and having to dry out for a few days. I wonder if I should blame the whiskey, but I notice other people seem to drink a lot of it without any problems at all.

GREAT NEWS! They do have Kessler, but they moved it up to the second shelf, even above Evan Williams which is more expensive. Stupid CVS clerks!

I've been skipping a day between whiskey drinking lately. I think it's the summer heat mostly.

^^ Summer heat and whiskey don't often mix well together. Usually, when the heat goes up, I'll have bourbon on the rocks or, if it's almost unbearable, it's whiskey with soda - it's something my grandmother used to drink, it's quite refreshing and club soda doesn't kill the taste of whiskey like coke does (at least, for my palate). On the other hand, whiskey neat during a heatwave is the best way to pass out fast and save some money, as it'll get you petrified drunk faster than usual.

Yes it will. Sometimes it's fun like that.
I've been craving beer lately. Until the bourbon craving kicks in.

For whatever reason, I get horrible beer cravings from time to time. I'm a straight liquor guy for the most part, but there's nothing like an ice-cold beer and even though I rarely drink beer, from time to time, I get this nagging feeling that I need one. And when that happens there's nothing better.

It's weird. I have no idea why it happens. I mean, it's not like my cocktails aren't ice cold.

Maybe it's because I can guzzle a beer. I can't guzzle a Manhattan.

I mean... I could, but it wouldn't lead to anything positive.

Just bought a handle of Benchmark 8, how much pain am I in for the next morning? Couldn't resist trying a bourbon under $25 for a half gallon.
