Old Virginia Bourbon
Do they sell much of this in the US? I bought a bottle because it was on special and thought it was OK. I looked it up and apparently it’s made in Kentucky but bottled in France. Slightly spicy. I bought another bottle because it’s still on special. I’m going to drink some soon with Leo (Thai) beer; but first I have to take my kid to his swimming lesson. Tick tock tick tock...
Re: Old Virginia Bourbon
I've never seen it that I recall. If Boozi were still around he could probably shed some light.
I'll try to keep my eyes peeled for it. I'd give it a go.

I've never seen that bottle either.
Why in the world would they bottle it in France?

Don't worry. We're in no hurry.

Re: Old Virginia Bourbon

Re: Old Virginia Bourbon
Yeah, the brand name is Old Virginia. It says that in big letters. Underneath, in smaller letters, it says Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
I think it’s French-owned and aimed at the French market. Apparently it’s the biggest-selling bourbon in France. The question is not why it’s bottled in France, so much as why it’s made and aged (six years) in Kentucky. I guess the answer is, so they can call it Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
It’s OK. Good value for the price. Maybe comparable to Jim Beam Black Label. Noticeably superior to Jim Beam White Label.
