Tale of Two Bars

Post by BenBeam »

I never usually go to Reading for drinks, especially on a Monday night, but I was forced to to see an old friend earlier. This was at about 5pm before the places got busy, but I think the following sums up the modern day drinking scene perfectly -

Bar One (with Live DJ) - 18 people in there, with a round of 2x Bloody Marys coming to £9 (about $16).
Bar Two - Filled to bursting (with no entertainment) and a round of 2x Jager shots, 1 x Cider and Black plus 1 x Carlsberg pint coming to £4 (about $10).

Bars\Pubs\Clubs need to realise that people care about price, not where they are drinking. These days its a bit like Field of Dreams - "If you build it, then they will come"
"Its a great week to be British - or a Sea Lion"
