I know the feeling. I'm drinking Evan Williams. I never stray too far from this one.
What are you drinking right now?

Re: What are you drinking right now?
A Swedish single malt: High Coast's Hav.
Don't worry. We're in no hurry.
Re: What are you drinking right now?
PBR and Gran Legacy whiskey. Had the day off from work today for jury duty, and did not get selected for a trial. So, just a paid day off. There are tent cities springing up in the vicinity of the courthouse, while there are dozens of cops around at all times. I fear we may turn into a Los Angeles.

At the moment not a thing. But I feel like Dickel rye would hit the spot. I'll find out in about 90 minutes.

Re: What are you drinking right now?
There have been subtle changes happening at my liquor store over the last few months. First the Hamm's disappeared. Then the Natty Ice disappeared. Then the Rolling Rock disappeared. And tonight the deal was closed when the PBR disappeared. Worse, when I asked the clerk (a guy who just appeared in there in the last few weeks, doesn't speak with the Middle Eastern accent that the people who used to be there did) if they had 12 packs of PBR in stock, he acted bewildered, as if he'd never heard of it. The other guy behind the counter, also a newer person, said he thought he remembered PBR, and also appeared bewildered. Obviously what's happened is a change in ownership and cheap domestic beer is off the inventory list. (Budweiser was still there, but that's my special occasion beer.) I thanked them both and walked out, probably for the last time. I've always said going to the liquor store is half the fun of getting drunk, and now I've lost that half. (They still have the tall single cans of beer for the bums.)
Anyway, I figured it was time for me to become acquainted with the beer at the CVS next door, it's probably cheaper anyway. I walk in and the gate to the liquor aisle is closed. There is a sign on the gate that says "Sales of alcohol is prohibited at this time." It's only 9 PM so I ask the clerk what time the liquor aisle closes. He said, "Oh we had to close it down because a crazy guy was in here." Indeed, there was liquid on the floor, "crazy guy" must have busted a bottle of gin. Or vodka.
I have enough beer/whiskey to get me through the night and mourn the loss of my liquor store. This gentrifying city angers and frightens me, but I'm too scared to move away.

Re: What are you drinking right now?
AHA! They are not out of PBR. The clerk who always takes care of me knew where it was. The guy Thursday night just didn't know where it was.
Will pour the whiskey later on. These beer/whiskey drunks almost always end in blackout. The next morning I have to check my browser history to see what I was doing all night. Then I have to go through deleting Facebook, Skype, and MDM posts.
Man, it sure feels good to have an ally at the liquor store. I was so fucking depressed.

Ata boy! Persistance is the key!
Fuck that. Keep your record of drunken exploits. Let them pile up and study them. If Bukowski went through and deleted everything we wouldn't have all those great novels.
