Milwaukee's Best Ice, my favorite budget beer. Has a nice punch and actually tastes like beer.

Even more Kronenbourg 1664, and a little Morrisons Export Lager. Not bad for the price...

Re: What are you drinking right now?
Getting ready to tear open a can of PBR. It will be my first drink in 10 days. I haven't gone this long without a drink in years. I had to detox after some nasty DT's a while back - mental confusion, visual hallucinations, the whole bit. And blood pressure sky high, which meant I was going to have to stop drinking until I took my physical exam scheduled for the 25th. But my insurance is dropping me, so I won't have to take it now. Blood pressure be damned.
After that experience I studied the drinking habits of some of my most admired drunkards. Christopher Hitchens died at 62 of esophageal cancer, but it wasn't just the bottle of Johnnie Walker Black a day, it was also chain smoking cigarettes. Bukowski made it to 74, but he had switched to wine in his later years. Dorothy Parker made it to 73, her cause of death was a heart attack. (But one of my gripes with Dorothy Parker was her stints in rehab. Whatever made her keep doing that? She sometimes left the day after checking in.) Hitchens not only never considered rehab, here he is in an interview, hair all lost to chemo, saying he would do it all again: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/christop ... p_n_685021
That's my attitude, too. Like Hitchens, drink brings me joy and I ain't gonna stop drinking. I am, however, going to stop drinking like an IDIOT. No more starting at 7 in the morning and going until last call. No more sitting in here drinking and watching the sun come up. If I quit drinking like an idiot, I can survive these months-long benders no problem.
BTW, I read up on DT's on some of the medical websites. One of them noted that the visual hallucinations are related to what is in the room at the time - like patterns on wallpaper that might be similar to rats or bats, and you see them flying around. That makes sense. The hallucination I had was my belt hovering above the floor and wavering. My belt was hung up on the bedroom door knob at the time. Also, I knew my eyes were playing tricks on me, so i wasn't frightened - however, I waited for the hallucination to pass but it did not. I had to reach out with my hand to touch it, then it disappeared.
These last ten days were not rough at all. I wanted a drink, but it wasn't driving me insane. In fact, the shakes went away on their own after two days.
But, man oh man! This first drink tonight is gonna be good!
CHEERS!

10 days off the wagon? Welcome back.
No I couldn`t stop drinking for that long right now, but I`m a weekend warrior so I doun`t count anyway.
For the shakes and visuals, watch The lost Weekend. It`s a fine drunk disney comedy for the whole family

oh i bet hughey boy...didn't even touch the sides lol.
I fancied a few different suds so got a mashup of euro lagers... beefy boy sized bottles only! Currently on a big bottle of Warsteiner and it's giving me "THE TASTE" ....I can see a lot of lager beer being drunk tonight.
Oh and had some beam on the side.
