Cans are light when empty, crushable, stackable and all round easier to deal with - so are good for quantity. Better beers tend to come in bottles though.

Plus, 'cans' also means boobs of which I am very much in favour.

A guy who can lift a keg with one hand...if you knew Cliffie, you might dig the humor.

empty bottles make much better weapons than empty cans.

Conversely, you can playfully throw empty cans at friends and family members. You try that with a bottle and suddenly you're considered a real shitheel.

That's a great post. Now I really want to try throwing a bottle at someone in a "playful manner" and see how they react.

Pretty much this. If I'm drinking cheap I'll get cans. A lot of times I'll pour it into a glass anyway cus I drink a lot faster from a glass.

Pabst comes in a very neat and handleable square pack of 30 cans. And the empty containers are great wallpaper.

I haven't busted one by the pool yet, but why take the chance? It's bottles during adult swim, and cans when there are kids running around.

I do like the sound of bottles hitting the pile in the recycle bin.

Wingman wrote:also, they don't make 30-packs of bottles. for the weight reasons, i assume. which brings up the environmental impact. cans cost less to transport the same amount of beer. not that i wouldn't drink it if it was wrapped in baby-seal fur, but still.

ooh, and less likely to break. very important.

i think you can get whiskey in a can, too, though i've only ever had the beam and cola from a vending machine. that was nasty, but only because they used cheap cola.
Where is this beautiful, wonderful vending machine?????

Cans just win overall
- Space and stackability
- Easy to crush and dispose of (or if you're thrifty like me, save and scrap 'em ... for more cans!)
- Cheaper
- Pocketable
