Further research having been done, it was original coors they were bootlegging.

Further research also suggests, that if you listen REAL hard during the scene when Snowball and Bandit park the truck in the middle of the fairgrounds, you can hear two people in the crowd say this:
one- "YESSS!! YEAH!!! THEY MADE IT! FREE COORS FOR EVERYBODY!!!"
two- "YEAH!! FREE - wait, what? Did you say Coors? Whoahwhoahwhoah. You mean to tell me, I've been here, soiling my bell-bottoms for twenty eight hours for FUCKING COORS! Fuck you, boner! I'm going home and drinking cough syrup!

It's not available at my local watering holes. I live in the Peoples Socialist Republic of California.
Eh, I think Coors Original is generally banned from bars worldwide; I've yet to see it in South Dakota, Missouri, or Illinois, so neo-liberal fascists can't be blamed for the blasphemy against America's best mass produced brew. I can it in liquor stores, generally on a permanent sale; can you not do this in the Schwarzifornia?

Coors Original is available here. In fact, for the last year or so Coors Original kegs have been about $20 cheaper than Coors Light kegs. But I haven't seen a single bar reflect this in its draught Coors prices. They just eat the extra profit.

Corrs lite, miller light, bud light, all just expoensive megaswill. Sam Adams used to sell a light beer called Lightship. It actually had flavor, you could taste hops. I think it fizzled because lite drinkers just don't want a flavor and that is why Ultra sells too. After that, Sam Adams ran an ad campaign saying the difference between a regular beer and a light beer is 3 tottilla chips. Good point.

Coors and Coors Light fanatics are proof that if you keep something tied to a specific region for long enough, people will forget how shitty it is and make it part of their identity.

My local has a coors light tap on the water line. That being said, I actually drink a few of them after the hurricane because I wanted something cold and that was all I had to choose from at the hole I was at, that had power and I still didn't. I had cold beer, good beer, at home but had to get out of the house after 3 days of sweating and meeting the neighbors. Coors light does suck though.

Coors Original is the best damn beer for the price; $9 for a twelve pack of bottles is a damn good deal, as not all of us can afford this fancy-smansy $7 for a six pack beer. Furthermore, I am not even from (much less near) the Rocky's, yet I love the shit out of that brew for the reasons in the last mentioned before; it's the best tasting beer for the price, and it has a decent ABV and is full bodied enough so that it prevents the Zombie-Like drunk munchies....

You can afford $9 a twelve? I buy Pabst at $6 or $7 a twelvepack, myself. It's got the same ABV as Coors Original (heck, Miller High LIfe has a higher ABV than CO), tastes better, and - best part - I'm not drinking Coors.

It's been a little bit since I looked at beer prices, but I think a 30 pack of Natty is around 15 bucks.

PBR's peaked 8 bucks a twelve here. It's getting trendy. High Rife, around here, is cheaper, stronger, and goes more toward paying my salary....

...Not that I drink it. I prefer the PBR. But I'm working on a bottle of Lucid tonight.

Actually, High Life is 4.7% according to Wiki (which seems awfully generous). While Pabst claims a 5% ABV (which seems to be a generous estimate to my liver), I have drank it quite a bit, and it not nearly as thick of a beer; furthermore, Pabst leans towards $7 for a 12 pack of CANS, so $2 more for a a 12 pack of BOTTLES of Coors is a damn good deal. I would talk about Coors 12 packs of cans, but I only see them in 18 packs, at a minimum.... that being stated, I can find - at one of the local hyvees - 24oz of Coors Original for $1.09 each, which is damn good deal I almost always take advantage of.

But, yes, I generally can't afford $9 a twelve - I usually get a few forties, a few Tilts/Sparks (for the sidewalk slams), and a 6-er of OM. However, for the price, Coors Original, truly, is the best damned beer for the price I have yet to encounter.

If you'll willingly drink sparks or tilt, we have completely different ideas of what constitutes "drinkable".

captain,

Don't know if you've ever visited America, but most of the nationally advertised beer IS swill. And I don't know which American beers, that are actually brewed in America, get exported and which are "brewed by license" overseas.

However, there's dozens of regional and micro beers, and some are quite good. The last place I lived in the States (Austin, TX), happened to be next door to the world-famous Whip Inn (biggest beer selection in TX [300+], with it's companion liquor store -- Beverage World -- on the same property).

They even put an acoustic piano in the Whip Inn for me to play.
