Obamacare is a nightmare. If it were so damned good, why are the likes of huge Obama supporters like the IBEW demanding waivers, along with many other unions, why has congress and their staff just gotten waivers? If it's so fuckin' good, why isn't it being implemented as ordered? Know why? BECAUSE IT SUCKS!!Lush City wrote:What about Obamacare?NYDingbat wrote:True. Any questions?
I'm drinking another round before it becomes medically illegal. If they find out I'm binging they will send a SWAT team ... don't want that!
The solution is allowing people to buy the insurance they want - I am a very sick person - I will buy very expensive insurance to help me pay even more expensive hospital bills (which can be reduced through tort reform).
People who do not require the medical attention I do should not be obligated to pay for it. If you're healthy and you want to be covered for only a catastrophic illness or injury, you should be able to.
Comparisons to car insurance are constantly made - welp - people are free to drop their collision coverage - then if their car gets hit, they pay. How is this different from health insurance??? If you're not sick, why can't you just buy a policy to cover you for a horrific accident or disease? And, by the by, if you don't drive, you aren't mandated to get car insurance. Whether you're sick or not, Obamacare demands a fee from you. This is bullshit. I'm sick. I should pay more. I cost more. Those who are healthy should pay less - or pay nothing at all if they wish.
The solution, as always, is a free market a la carte policy we can all tailor to our specific needs - yes, just like car insurance. If you're sick and need a bit more coverage, i.e. me, then you pay more, if you're not, then you choose whatever minimal coverage you want. Crazy, right?
