Palinka, did you say somewhere the white drinking jacket is ruined? If so, will you retire it or replace it? Surely you know that a new piece of an old favorite--even the same make, model, size--is, alas, never the same.

The white linen drinking jacket has been retired and put out to stud. I have a new piece of drinking apparel, a black Edwardian frock coat. It makes me look like the stylish bum that I am. And black hides the blood so well.
