I know:
Crisps=chips
Chips=fries
Biscuits=cookies
Crackers= exploding party favors
but what do you call the thin dry things which sometimes have salt that we call crackers?

I just made some killer pate that is too salty for saltines and the like, so I'm going to have to buy those pasty English crackers without salt.

For a biscuit, I'd take flour, baking powder, salt, maybe a bit of sugar. Mix in some kind of fat--butter, crisco, lard, whatever. Moisten it with milk, cream, or buttermilk. Gently gently knead. Press out and cut into shapes. Bake. Serve split and buttered.

I'm no Martha Stewart but that sounds like scones to me, however i could be wrong. When you say biscuit are you refering to something like a dinner roll?
