I can't sleep. When I close my eyes, the most unsettling technicolor movies unreel behind my eyelids. Scenes of such horror and pain that I have no choice but to stay awake.

Hemmingway and Fitzgerald had this problem. I think it has something to do with having a superiour imagination.
And they say her flower is faded now
Hard weather and hard booze
But maybe that's just the price you pay
For the chains you refuse

No, I don't think they could have written like you.

Sometimes, I just see people. They are usually talking to me, trying to tell me something. I wish I could hear them, or read lips.

Amen to the sleeplessness. I have a 6:00 am flight this morning down to Texas. That means getting to the airport at 5:00, which means leaving the house at 4:00, which would mean waking up at 3:00 is I want to bathe and dress so as to be reasonably presentable when I get there. So, I've done what any intelligent insomniac would do under similar circumstances...say fuck sleep and down three bottles of Champagne. Someone said that sleep was over-rated (?) and Franklin said that there'd be plenty of time for sleep in the grave. I say that I concur and that Champagne makes the waking hours more bearable. And there are always those Sauza Gold miniatures I bring on board to make the orange juice more palatable.

I suggest Trazodone, and I'm not kidding. It won't fuck you up like Ambiens, but it will give you a deep sleep without a drowsy pill hangover. Otherwise - and, sure, laugh all you want - I suggest you start meditating before you go to bed.
Oh, and cut down on the crack, even if it does interfere with the whole "crack whore" image Lucky says you've got established.

Lucky is the bane of my existence. I had to leave the convent to take care of her.

Her wicked, wicked behavior. Her nasty hygiene habits. Her little "pets" that she is wont to bring home.

I can just see you picking nits out of her hair. What a bonding moment.
