What to do? What to do...?

Post by Palinka (RIP) » Thu Oct 09, 2003 9:14 am

I'm really, really, really bored...

Just got back from my new job (which involves a 100km round trip on an East European train just to get there). I have been heavily rain on and generally pissed off, as well as specifically pissed off. My back is killing me.

What shall I do to relieve the stress, tension, boredom and pain...?

I know! I'll get ripped to the tits on drink and (prescription) drugs (Mmmm...Dihydrocodein Tartrate), and sit in a daze watching shitty sci-fi shows that have been dubbed into German! Der Raumschiff Enterprise, here I come!

Dihydrocodein Tartrate - that's the clinical name for tartar sauce, no?

Actually, sounds like a wicked strong painkiller.

Oh, it is. And lots of fun too...
Stronger than codeine a wee bit milder than morphine. They go nicely with a beer. Or a rosé.
In a very short time I shall, literally, be in no pain at all. Hell, they even make German TV funny!!!

Apparently German television is so dull it requires alcohol and painkillers to make it entertaining.

Why not Hungarian TV, Palinka? Or is that even less exciting?

Ohhh, dear god, yes

To find Hungarian TV funny, one would require more than pills and booze. Possibly brain trauma or a severe psychiatric illness might do the trick. Or be Hungarian, which amounts to pretty much the same thing...

Wow...have you made Frog aware of this? Or are some things better left unspoken? Or does he know and just not give a damn?

Commuting is the worst part of any job. I'm glad I don't have to do it.
I have red wine and codeine; think I'll join you. but I don't like tv.

Ah, the memories (or lack thereof). Actually I could do with a nice merlot and a spliff right now. Merlot should be no problem, unfortunately I lost touch with all of my sources for the other stuff years ago.

Of course he is aware of it. Why do you think he spends so much time drinking with me? He's on the recovery programme.

And dear Mrs. S., you are welcome to join me anytime. I'll turn off the crappy German TV and you can select a DVD of your choice. Bring the wine...

In fact, any of you are.

But remember to bring wine!

If that wine is a bum wine, count me in! But we should watch the Lego version first. And the DVD has great subtitle options.
