So, aside from drinking heavily (which is being done) what is one to do when they feel like complete shit for something they've done? Tell the truth? Not an option...it would cause more destruction than solution. Keep the lie? I'm a shitty liar when it regards people that count. I'm stuck. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Tell the hardest truth first, as they advised on Twin Peaks... take your lumps and go on from there. Shit'll eat you up from the inside otherwise. Who needs that?

Assuming that telling the truth won't get you murdered, btw...

Be completely honest and damn the consequences. Keeping the truth in is like planting seeds for some toxic weed that will doubtless take over your whole garden.

Unless it's something completely insignificant, like if you sneaked a cigarette and you're not supposed to be smoking.

And, what Red said applies if you're dealing with a psycho. Psychos deserve absence, not truth.

No NO NO avoid the lie push it way down deep inside you. That's what I do. If anyone everbrings up the subject of the lie vomit on thier shoes usually everyone forgets and starts either vominting themselves or cleans up the mess.

If you don't tell the truth, remember these sayings
"Alcohol brings out the truth in all of us."
"The drunken mind says what the undrunk mind thinks."
You don't wanna slip up and spill the beans while drunk and not be able to remember when undrunk. I recommend telling the truth while undrunk so that you will remember it. And pretty much however it turns out you will have good reason to drink.
