Survey Question: Who works for a living?

Post by Fighting Frank »

Yo:

I imagine the answer is most everybody. I'm only ever here while I'm at work because I don't have a computer at my pad. But I kinda wonder about there being maybe one or two lucky folks who just hang out, drinking all day, watching shit like Slacker and Beaver re-runs, all the while knowing they will never, ever have to work another day in their entire lives.

How did they get so lucky? Who knows. Maybe they inherited money from dead Ps. Maybe they got a court settlement from when the doctor fucked up. Who knows. Maybe they're on workers' comp. Point is, these people, if they actually exist, are to be accorded the highest honour and respect.

I fantasize about getting laid off and collecting unemployment for six months. Problem is, I don't know if I'd ever be able to rotate back to the regular world. It's like a vacation; I never take more than a few days off in a row, otherwise I'm afraid I'll just say "fuck it all," and never return.

I can't complain. I get to leave at 4:15 today. I'll be hammered by 7.

I work, but I keep looking for my sugar mama. ;) But seriously, I guess if you love your job, or you're the boss and can tip a few back during the day, work isn't that bad.

Perfect example of being able to tip a few back, I assume that is.

i work. i own my own company which is good. i'm up and down ladders all day and wielding air nailers and power tools so drinking on the job is a no-no. which is bad. my boss is one clever, handsome devil though.

I'm a commissioned salesperson, which means I work about 15 hours a week and spend the rest of the time playing online. And I make good money. I'm the goose's sugar mama.

First let me state i'm salary.
Second let me state that I actually have to drive around building to building quite often to do my job.
Third, I'm on a military installation as a contractor.

No, I can't drink on the job.

Though i have responded afterhours and the SPs figured they should give me a breathalizer (.002!)

Week before last I put in 58.75hours. Last week was 48.75. I'm salary. I don't get shit extra.

And people wonder why I drink right after work.

60 hours a week, the bastards. Trying to save $$ by not bringing back folks on layoff so they work the hell out of us.

Currently in the sugar momma, prefferably one who owns a bar or liqour store. Maybe I should say I'm looking for Booze Momma. Seems like a better idea than working for a living.
