I take it you never saw similar posting here reflecting people's irritation and frustration because it was all deleted before you ever had a chance to. I thought that usually trolling of that caliber is pretty clear criteria for banning.

I still respectfully disagree about the restricted forum being a privileged one. It's the same criteria for everyone...300 posts. I accumulated that in my first month here. We have one poster pushing 500 posts in less than a month over there. My "running" of the Other Pub is dictated by the wants and needs of the community at large. I was motivated by the desire to protect certain individuals. There are other forums that have such sub-forums. No big deal that The Other Pub does and that this place doesn't.

Again, I am flattered that you would seem so familiar with the nuances of The Other Pub. If one didn't know better, they would almost think that you were paying more attention to the activity there than here at your very OWN forum!

You've got a pretty big anti-fan club and yes, everytime one of these dust ups happen, more people sign up at TOP. I was quite surprised (pleasantly) that Frank had unlocked the thread and actively invited an "airing of greivances".

So how many message boards have you moderated GG? There's a raft of us who are sick and tired of "your on the job" training. You really seem to lack the knack and while I despise the Trump show, I would love to hear the words "You're fired" with regards to you.

First of all, I think I was the one who referred to Dan as a bit of a tit. I did so because I was getting a bit fed up of all the shit-stirring. Why does anyone care what's going on on the other board? Anyway, Dan - yes I called you a tit and I'm sorry if I offended you. I'll make up for it with drinks when the great meeting finally occurs! Finally, I have always been largely an MDM defender on TOP because in my opinion the attacks can verge on rabidity (it's a perfectly cromulant word) and I like most of the people who are being called names. However, the stalwart MDMers seem to be just as bad sometimes. Knowing that I like both boards and that I have never (to my knowledge) caused any trouble, do I have to choose? Can't I be the eternal fencesitter and plead loyalty to both? God help me, I am so unpleasantly undrunk...

Edit: I miss Palinka and The Lush.

Hold on now. Even a cursory glance of TOP reveals there has been a lot more smack talking on that board than this one.

I must have missed a bunch of stuff. As I said, I'm new to these boards.

And as far as this board being commercial and pursuing the almighty dollar, I ask you this: have you ever seen an ad (for MDM or otherwise) on this board? I think this one of the few boards related to a commercial site that doesn't hawk its wares. It is commercial free and will remain so. TOP, on the other hand, has ads o' plenty (I know that's how she gets the board for free, but still, they're there.)

Seriously, you can't deny the commercial implications of this forum and I'm not faulting you for it. You're doing what you love, providing a valued service and making a buck. Nothing wrong with it. In fact, everything's right with it. I was just trying to point out that both boards exist for different reasons and ultimately, can't be held to the same standards.

You're right that TOP has ads on it but Lushy has actually posted that everyone on that forum should download the adblock add-on to Firefox so no one has to be subjected to those ads. I really doubt she allowed the ads with the aim of lining her pocketbook.

And as I've said, we can downplay it all we like, but there's going to be some rivalry. It's the nature of the beast. So long as we make an effort to keep it civil, it'll be, you know, fun.

Like the Broncos and the Raiders. Or Michigan and Ohio St. Just good clean fun.

Agreed. Though these days I identify with the Mavericks vs. Suns rivalry. Damn that was a good game last night. Too bad the refs tipped the scales with three no calls in the 2nd overtime in the Suns' favor. That was some BS.

How many posts has GG (or any other moderator for that matter) actually deleted? I think i've had 1 (which was deserved for whining), plus this thread locked initially. Maybe some of you have had worse experiences than i with this, but i'm still kinda confused as to how it all warranted the creation of another board so that you could say things there you couldn't here.

I said this earlier but appears to have been missed: Surely, if you have some kind of personal issue with another poster, take it up with them in PM rather than start a discussion in public/on another board about it? We're all adults here, can't we get along and be fairly reasonable with each other?

Before anyone else says it, yes that last paragraph is highly hypocritical, as i made some public comments about TOP and LushLife's sig earlier in this topic:

1- I fairly often make what i consider to be a post in jest/a joke, which other people take literally. Don't take me too seriously 100% of the time, y'know.

2- Emoticons were disposed of here a while back. LL has a site full of emoticons linked in every topic she posts as it's in her sig. Perhaps i understood this incorrectly, but the only reason i could see for this was to try and get people to use emoticons from elsewhere again - which reminded me of when POGS were banned at school when i was a real young'un in short-pants, and the next day a kid came into school wearing a POGS shirt. Not subtle. It bugged me a little, especially when all the other messageboards i use are text only, no pics/emoticons/avatars, and we cope just fine.

Anyone that said anything about me, don't worry about it, it's totally cool. Myself, Mayhem, etc get that publicly all the time, and we just deal with it. Sticks and stones...

i take some responsibility for mother goose changing the settings, especially changing everytime someone typed halloween it came out as sexytime. that was my fault. i can be very pursuasive.
