This girl I know

Post by liquor&poker »

She's pretty much a lightweight and she only likes to drink sweet drinks and occasionally she'll do a shot of vodka or tequila if she wants to throw up (seriously I think that's why some kids do that).

Anyway, my point it, she's on this mojito kick right now and she uses this mojito mix where you just add rum. And she only buys Bacardi rum. Doesn't it make more sense to get a cheaper rum if all you're using it for is the proof and not the taste?

Yep, a cheap white rum like Castillo would seem more appropriate to the case.

yes, if she is just mixing with such booze overpowering sugarmix the cheap stuff will suffice. though using a slightly better booze (when you can taste it) dows improve things a bit.
I have a newfound respect for vegetarians. With all the good enjoyable things they cut out of their diets, they still leave in alcohol.

Non-alcoholic beers make not a Drunkard

My rum of choice is Cruzan, I prefer it over any number of more expensive rums. The taste is good and it goes down smooth. I don't prefer it over top shelf stuff, of course, but I like it a lot better than Bacardi or Captain Morgan's.

You know, people make fun of the Mojito (I have too) but do you realize how much alcohol actually goes into one? It's booze with a splash of club soda and a splash of lime juice. It's a lot of rum base. Just to avoid the inevitable hangover, I would go with a better kind of rum.
On more than one occassion this conversation has led to a handful of boob."

I use cheap rum in most of my mixed drinks, which, when it comes to rum are mostly cuba libres and mojitos. Same with tequila in a margarita. If I'm drinking a good rum or tequila (Cruzan, Appleton Estate, El Tesoro, Casa Noble, etc.) then I'm having it straight, maybe with some water or ice.

OK, I have a question:

Where does one find mint leaves ? We couldn't find those fuckers anywhere. You might say "serves you right douchebag, living in fucking Maine", but if anyone knows at what type of store one might come by this item, please tell me.

Trader Joes

You can also grow it yourself in an herb garden. I've seen some really nifty hydroponic systems for growing herbs.

I use to find them in a potted plant outside my kitchen window & around the foundation of my last house (keeps ants away) but alas, we must replenish the crop.

Try your gourmet shops, Sarge.

I have that same question. Thought about catnip but that might just smell minty.

Oh and they just sell mint plants everywhere? Since when does drinking require gardening? This is bullshit!
