She's pretty much a lightweight and she only likes to drink sweet drinks and occasionally she'll do a shot of vodka or tequila if she wants to throw up (seriously I think that's why some kids do that).
Anyway, my point it, she's on this mojito kick right now and she uses this mojito mix where you just add rum. And she only buys Bacardi rum. Doesn't it make more sense to get a cheaper rum if all you're using it for is the proof and not the taste?

That's what I call Drunkard justice. I hate prisses like that. They're mincing their way through life when they should be marching. ~fkr.

yes, if she is just mixing with such booze overpowering sugarmix the cheap stuff will suffice. though using a slightly better booze (when you can taste it) dows improve things a bit.
I have a newfound respect for vegetarians. With all the good enjoyable things they cut out of their diets, they still leave in alcohol.

My rum of choice is Cruzan, I prefer it over any number of more expensive rums. The taste is good and it goes down smooth. I don't prefer it over top shelf stuff, of course, but I like it a lot better than Bacardi or Captain Morgan's.liz... wrote:i like castillo. budget booze is fine by me.Oggar wrote:Yep, a cheap white rum like Castillo would seem more appropriate to the case.

You know, people make fun of the Mojito (I have too) but do you realize how much alcohol actually goes into one? It's booze with a splash of club soda and a splash of lime juice. It's a lot of rum base. Just to avoid the inevitable hangover, I would go with a better kind of rum.liquor&poker wrote:She's pretty much a lightweight and she only likes to drink sweet drinks and occasionally she'll do a shot of vodka or tequila if she wants to throw up (seriously I think that's why some kids do that).

You can also grow it yourself in an herb garden. I've seen some really nifty hydroponic systems for growing herbs.
