i'm posing the question of how many work at office jobs and deal with paperwork and all, computers, etc. and then blue collar jobs like delivery, kitchen work, driving, housekeeping, etc. or no collar like general labor or under the table, or military or students. it's heartening to see us all draw together under the booze. it is, indeed, a uniter. i hover in between blue and no collar.
Even though I answered this in the other thread...
White collar. Sales Coordinator for a yacht manufacturer. Paperwork, boat shows, spreadsheets, meetings. Most of the day is spent in front of the computer, occasionally working, usually wasting time on here or on Fark.
"You know, you remind me of a poem I can't remember, and a song that may never have existed, and a place I'm not sure I've ever been to." - A.J.S.
I guess I'm multi-collared. I run a bookshop (online) and so I spend a lot of time being a fancypants manager but I also spend a lot of time sifting through boxes of books, doing collections and trying desperately to sort out the half a million or so books we currently have in the warehouse for cataloging or sending to our London shop.
I'm an electrical designer for a large electrical contractor...So I'm in the office AND out on job sites in the mud. Thought not at the same time. Seems like it sometimes though...
I've been unavoidably detained by my complete lack of punctuality.
Blue collar/No collar.
During the day, I'm fire alarm tech. A very blue collar gig.
At night, I'm a superhero. A collar would get in the way of my cape.
