It's payday!!

I gotta lose some weight.

I'm so happy my son is home after being at his dumbshit stupidass father's for a week.

These are my thoughts on a Monday.
Mayhem is everywhere.

I'm only half an hour and one bus journey away from today's first drink. Joy! I made it! Soon, there will be no paperwork, no barking dogs, no telephone. Just me and a bottle of cold ale and a newspaper. I will sit and read and attempt the puzzles in the paper as I watch the people come and go and drink my drink. They will pass by, oblivious to the fact that I'm fucking great, and their lives would be better if they knew me. They'll never know that the scruffy, unshaven wreck they've just ignored is actually a witty and interesting person.
Why do people sometimes look at you strange if you're drinking by yourself?
Why is this half an hour dragging its' feet?
My boss just gave me a chocolate bar; bonus!
Try to do one of those Soduko (or whatever they're called) puzzles when you're half wasted. Not easy.

Reading Sherwood Anderson and drinking bloody mary's at 3:41 on a monday afternoon is quite pleasant. I'm going to smoke a joint later and polish off this fifth of vodka and then drink some beer. I'm going to feel like a classy bastard. Probably chew the fat some more on here. Nice.

I thought the Bubonic Plague had been eradicated? Apparently not, because I am pretty sure I have it. Tonights menu - chicken soup, Sailor Jerry, NyQuil, more SJ to get the taste of NyQuil out of my mouth, bed.

I just read that in another thread. If I can get my sweating & shivering ass to the liquor store, we may have a winner.

I've been around that block already. Nexus is the real dope.

I do declare, these bloody mary's are sumptuous! I may start mixing up mint juleps and mojitos later. One of the perks about tending bar means you never have to drink rum and cokes at home. I got the full bar setup here, minus the taps. Mint leaves, tonic, soda, couple kinds of vodka, couple bottles of rum, big bottle of jack (for guests whom I do not like), a bottle of jim, a bottle of ancient age, random assorted liqueurs... I don't even find myself going out too often. I can sit at home and drink and smoke to my heart's content (no nanny-state anti-smoking laws at my private bar), and read the old classics. Pull out a book at a crowded bar and you're going to get some odd looks. In a nice big la-z boy at home with a neat bourbon and a smoking jacket? Not a chance, unless you eye-fuck yourself in the mirror.

Totally unrelated, but the mirror test is always how I know I've crossed the line from pleasantly buzzed to actual, factual drunk. You know that piss you go to take, right when you're on the cusp of intoxicated? You look at your face in the mirror, and a face smiles back at you, and you can't quite place it, but you know that son of a bitch is the classiest sonofabitch in the world, and then you realize it's you, and fuck-all if you aren't the classiest sonofabitch in the world! That's when I know the sauce has sufficiently flavored your evening. I'm hoping to see that classy asshole in an hour or so.
Cheers!

I like re-reading my favorite books as well. I can't tell you how many times I've re-read The Catcher in the Rye or The Sun Also Rises. Legs, by William Kennedy, is another classic tome that I've pored over numerous times. That's how you got to appreciate the greatness sometimes.

I'm getting comfortably drunk. Contemplating the universe's mysteries; finding no answers; untroubled. That's the beginnings of something beautiful.

buncha hippies. you should be listening toi the dead milkmen when you trip on your may jane"
now, I understand that some of you don't know Sour Jane,
so I'll tell you a little bit about her.
She's a lesbian Eskimo midget albino. She went to
college and she started the Lesbian Eskimo Albino
Student Union, and four hundred people signed up.
There they were, hundreds of 'em, lesbian midget
Eskimo left-handed albinos. Did I mention the fact
that she was left-handed? She's left-handed,
alright.

Girl's got some strange hobbies. One of her hobbies
is lowering children into open manholes, which is
kinda difficult 'cause a lot of the children are
taller than her, her being a midget and everything
...or her being a left-handed midget...or her being
a left-handed lesbian midget...or her being a left-
handed lesbian albino midget...or her being a
lesbian left-handed albino midget Eskimo...life can
be really difficult on that young lady.

She bit me once, you know. Right here, you see
this? Left a mark. She was lowerin' a friend of
mine's kid into the sewer, and I run up, tryin' to

stop her. I said, "Listen there, you lesbian midget
left-handed albino! You stop right there!" And she
bit me. I'm afraid I'm gonna...I'm gonna turn into
a lesbian left-handed midget albino when the moon is
full.

Oh my God, the moon is full tonight! I can feel
myself shrinking! I can feel myself becoming left-
handed! I can feel myself getting the urge to build
an igloo! I can feel my skin turning white and my
eyes getting red! I can feel...I can feel the urge
...to buy a Suzanne Vega album!!

AAAARRRRGGHHHHH!!!!!! NOOO! NNNNNOOOO!!!!
NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Oh, I'm okay; it's just gas.
