Decent whiskey (Weller 107) deserves a good chaser (bacon, medium crisp). Not that whiskey needs a chaser, but we're all chasing something: be it the sunrise or sunset, or that little fragment of sublimely caramelized bacon swimming like an angelic astronomical anomaly unto the swirling ends of an amber galaxy.

The liquor store finally got Kentucky Deluxe back in stock. Apparently some people have been stealing them -- why not steal a better whiskey for chrissakes? So, you know what I'm drinking.

Today's menu will begin with that Ernest and Gallo's XO simply because I can afford some cheap tasty brandy. Let's see how sickly sweet this one is. It was recommended by Dave. He's an old dude who follows you around the store and points out good finds. Ya know, like a dog tugging on your leash. I think he works there at Damon's but still uncertain.
