is it the selection of beers? the great competent bartenders?/ the atmosphere?
my favorite bar has 50 cent tap beers (budweiser, bud light or coors light) during happy hour. shame it really is only an hour though

Has to the the Bar itself. That great big serving tray of drinks to all seated. Wood, Granite or whatever it is, it is your little piece of heaven for the time being and time forgotten later.

Re: what's the best part of your favorite bar?
my bar used to be my favorite, mostly because of the shitload of good times had there and all the foggy memories. I'd have to say the Hanna City Tap is my favorite bar now. No idea why, just a friendly place, not quite a dive bar by my standards, but close.
Beer's just being social. Whiskey's drinkin'.

1. It's one of those nice old timey bars you only find in old European port towns like thise one
2. It's got a great crowd, most of them are students like me but not the retarded "LOL IM LIEK SOOO DRUNK, THIS IS GUNNA B A TOTALY RANDUM NITE OUT XDDD" kind that make you wanna go all Kent State on their arses
3. The music isn't completely shit
4. The bar staff are the nicest I've ever met, they sometimes give me a free shot just because they felt like having one themselves at that precise moment
5. They have a good range of German beers on tap, unlike the soapy Fosters and shite that I find in most of the other places round here
Shit, I could go on. A toast! A toast to the Black Rose, Genova, Italy. SALUTE!

It's the feeling you get, once you enter the place, the feeling of being among friends, the feeling of just being at...home.

Re: what's the best part of your favorite bar?
I love everything. Everything about my bar. From the smokiness, to the beer stained carpet. The bartender knows exactly what I want, and keeps em coming before they are completely empty. The people are drunkards with wits about them and make swell(swill) company. The bar itself is wooden, with lacquer covering, the neon sign light bouncing off its luminous surface is a comforting beauty.
And then there's the booze...and it's...well, what single word can encompass that? Wonderful? Euphoric? Love?

me or anybody being in it. An empty bar is a sad thing. All bars need somebody, especially me.

My local pub recently got a 3D TV which is pretty cool. I'll be watching the Champions League final tonight in glorious 3D.

Re: what's the best part of your favorite bar?
Well its a combination of things, really, from crowd and friends and atmosphere. Good food can be a plus, but I also really enjoy the bars that let me bring my own.
The one thing that can't be lacking, however, is good service.
