i was a complete asshat but, who knows, maybe some good will come out of it.

the store manager was a psychotic 4'6" older woman who, at one point, i thought was going to rip my face off

we didn't get pizza rolls but ended up having steak and ribs, as well as procuring the taxidermied coyote from 'spook's roadhouse, so it was all good
why is my moral compass always pointed east? that's the direction of the nearest liquor store.

Perhaps saying to the parents or grandparents would have been better if anything needed to be said at all. Kid was only about 11. I hear that is how anorexia can come about.

Drinking and going out or just being drunk in public(besides a bar) is just a gamble. My most shameful and most proud moments come from doing that.

They call ethanol "truth serum" for a reason. You told the kid the truth. Feelings were hurt. It is what it is. All in all, you didn't do anything I wouldn't do, and the story brought more joy/interest to to me and others on this board than pain/trouble it brought to the kid.

Everyone's talking shit about "that's just a kid..." but fuck that. How often do you think about being a kid? being a kid fucking sucks. You may have contributed to that but didn't add to it. When he's an adult, who cares?

keep calm and carry on.

Oh goose, for fucks sake. What part of bury this event and then bury the shovel are you not getting? Now that it's out, it happened. Pretty much exactly how he explained it. I didn't know anything was going on until dad/grandpa came over, but damn, it was fucked up. Oh well. Can't change the past, just learn from it and press on.

Yeah it sucked that you were thrown through the pizza roll glass, and yeah, I believe that you deserved it--but isn't this what the site is all about?

Cheers to you for owning up.

If think the dad/granddad behaved the right way, but I don't understand why the shop owner went so crazy about that. Was he overweight himself?
True, but you and Shane live in a very different society. We are a sue crazy, litigious place. In short, many here, instead of actually working for money, will sue the shit out of anyone for pretty much any real or perceived infraction, in the hopes of getting a big payday in court. I mean, why work? Why go out and actually have to earn your money? We put men on the moon and built cities in deserts, now it's "you hurt my feelings, I'm so sad now, I'll see you in court!" This is America now. This is probably why the manager freaked out, this is also why the police were called.
This is in no way condoning Goose's behavior. Goose, it was a kid, if you wanna fuck with people, fuck with people who can fuck with you right back. That's just my take on it.

by the way, you owe Bluespook quite a few drinks for getting you out of there.

that's not owning up, owning up is going back to that store and saying, "It was me, I'm sorry, call the cops, let me leave, up to you". Telling us 'aint shit.

That is owning up.

This one's a pip.

Popping off at adults, who can account for themselves, is one thing. Emotionally damaging a kid is another. That said, yeah, our society is way too uptight.

1. You deserve respect *here* for owning up.

2. It was a harsh and shitty thing to do to an unsuspecting child in a public place, and that's awful. In addition, it's TERRIBLE PR for drunks. If I had been the one with the kid, you'd have your jaw wired shut right now, unless more serious reconstructive surgery was necessary, which is highly likely.

3. Seems like no harm, no foul, for the most part. Hope all of us keep it under better control in the future.

Fucking ... You can get in trouble for doing this to a preciously plump friend of yours at the bar like pinching her ass and being like, "Boyfriend?! Why not go home with a real Chris?"
And you'll still get in trouble.

Or so I'm told ...
