Now it's Laphroaig 10-year-old Islay Single Malt Whisky, a delightful little birthday present!

Another bottle of WT101. I made the glorious mistake of buying a bottle when I had two more back in the house. Sometimes all I remember is that I'm low on this or that bottle, then I buy another one, promptly forget I bought another one, then up and get another one while I'm out and about. This is how I wound up with 4 bottles of Jameson that time. Good stuff.

hmmm, I would go Evan Williams, both are highly rated here, but out in the world, people know WT101, Evan Williams, when people see it, they're like "isn't that Jck Daniel's?". There's no freakin' clue outside of people that actually enjoy Bourbon. I've said it before, if I had to name my top 5 Bourbons on Earth, WT101 is on that list. Yes, an 18 dollar bottle of Whiskey will make that list, every time.

Mr. Williams?

He and I renewed an old friendship tonight. Sadly, I must bid him adieu.

I'm a green-label Evan guy myself. I've opened too many in my time. Too many.

Evan is a friend of mine, indeed. I'm trying to decide if I pay twice the price for Beam Black next time I hit the fueling station. I really should do a direct comparison. I like Beam Black a bit more, but it's twice as much money!

As for my latest open, that would be a $6 fifth of mixed rum and brandy called "Holly Toddy". I assume it's a seasonal product. It could use a higher proof, being only sixty. At eighty the bottle might last a bit longer. It's a nice mixer in some warm milk or eggnog before bed. Mixer. That's a word that I don't use often.

A fifty milliliter bottle of Jim Beam Black for six dollars! Should have bought a pint before I boarded the train and got more bang for my buck.

Uncorked Rare Breed is a friend indeed. Still working on a bottle of Redbreast too. I see Scotch in my future ...

Homemade stout, far too much bottle conditioning, it splurted all over the sink - slipped out of my hand and broke a glass.
