But there are THOUSANDS.
I can think of two right now that i have within reach
The Brewmasters Bible
the Poisoners Bible
You know...? I was just being my old contrary self, but the x-tian (and therefore the Hebrew) holy book is quite an interesting book.
Here's that and a few more: http://www.sacred-texts.com/index.htm
“Süßen witwe Mutter-Hosen — kommst du hier mit mein knackenpfeife schnell, oder Ich zeige Ihnen mein Zuhälter Hand!”
"I am going to pistol-whip the next person who says 'shenanigans' "
The man who intoxicates himself on bad whisky is sometimes moved to kill his wife and set his house on fire, but the victim of applejack is capable of blowing up a whole town with dynamite and of reciting original poetry to every surviving inhabitant.

Isn't that every book that he wrote?
Or:
Do you like just going to the library, finding a nice secluded corner in the sci-fi section and thumbing through some Dick? What about some well-worn Balzac?
(I know, I already made a Balzac joke, but, hey, the Balzac fits here with the Dick.)

Philip K Dick is incredible. I'm reading "'Salem's Lot" by Stephen King in honor of Halloween. After this one, its time to re-read the whole damn Dark Tower series....

Sounds good!
I'm reading a series of essays on the Koran. Before anything's said, it's only for study purposes!

If you want some top-notch literary smut, check out The Story of O by Pauline Reage. It's up there with the Marque de Sade stuff, so fair warning.
I started reading some of his older short stories, from the '50's, and even before the drugs, he was way out. It was some pretty interesting sf, with the science-part just a background/excuse for the story. Kind of like JG Ballard.
Both are kind of hard to find. The state of the booksellers is dire.
Ten years ago, there was a local 2-4 store chain of booksellers named Hawley-Cooke. That store was soooo incredible. They had the whole Black Sparrow Press line of Bukowsky, everything WSB wrote, tons of literature, a huge history and philosophy section; a real egghead joint. They sold out to Borders. Hawley and Cooke were getting old and maybe saw the writing o nthe wall with the internets and all. Now Borders has closed. B. Dalton closed years ago; they had some odd stuff for a mall bookstore. Now there's another local 2 store bohemian place, but their stores are really small. There's Barnes&Noble and Books-a-million, but they are pretty far out in the fancy rich suburbia and I'm n the other side of town, in the hood.

Just finished the latest Stephen King novel: 11/22/63. It was really excellent. Unlike under the dome it draws you in after the first 50 pages and is difficult to put down. His best work since Hearts in Atlantis.
Getting drunk was good. I decided that I would always like getting drunk. It took away the obvious and maybe if you could get away from the obvious often enough, you wouldn't become obvious yourself - Bukowski
