Unions suck

Post by Jags »

Their contract is up this year and I have to go to training to do their job in case they go on strike. I'm an IT guy I don't want to go climbing poles and hooking up wires. What if the hotel I have to stay in doesn't have a bar? Can you buy beer at the corner store in Brooklyn?

Your boss makes you learn to do another job and you blame the union?

My boss has no choice, he has to go do a union job too if they strike. It's either that or get fired.

That sounds unfair. Shame you can't go on strike or something.

Good to know. I'm Virginian and know nothing of NY but that is where my strike assignment is. Will have to work 12 hour days but need to pound a few to sleep right.

We're not scabs, we are employees of the same company forced to do the union jobs if they strike. Scabs are people hired after the fact.
