Lately whenever I drink I fall into a deep deep slumber that lasts a very long time. Even if I get 10+ hours of sleep I still crawl out of bed sleepy. Thankfully I work evenings.
The bed is just too comfortable to get out of after a night of drinking for me, how do I combat this? I really enjoy rolling around in bed all day but I got shit to do!
I hate drinking coffee as it makes me feel like I'm losing my mind. Any ideas?
All the best,
Mr. Lahey.

Fresh air, especially keeping window open during winter works wonders. After warm shower and few chugs of whatever happens to be on table (which with this method is already chilled as well).

If you find something that works let me know. I wake up ontime for work every morning at 5:00. But I cannot stop snoozing, I mean my mind wants to get out of bed but my body wont do it. Too damn comfy. Another 45 min later and Im up and rushing to work.

Just get up and get moving...set your alarm away from the bed and stick to the plan u set the night before. It's only a few seconds from lazy slumber until you are up and about. Then pull a Huey Lewis "I wanna new drug" video and dunk ur head in a tub of ice water, only as last resort of course. :)

Don't avoid it; embrace it.
It's a crummy cold grey day here and drinking and sleeping it away makes great sense.

I believe it would be better if humans hibernated.

You sleep for 10+ hours, and you're complaining? I. Hate. You.

It's pretty awesome actually. But I have to shake this type of schedule... meehh... maybe in a few months.Savage wrote:You sleep for 10+ hours, and you're complaining? I. Hate. You.

Re: How to avoid the drunken hibernation?
Just get straight out of bed, the faster you wake up the better you are throughout the day. If you wake up slowly you'll be groggy all day long. Besides 10 hrs is just too long, probably part of the problem.

Adjust your schedule so you don't go to sleep with 10+ hours to spare. That's valuable drinking/partying/fucking/climbing/breaking shit time.
Then, man up and drink coffee. If it really makes you go out of your mind, do half decaff for a bit to get used to it.
Or start smoking. Nothing gets you out of bed like chemical dependence.

Your totally right about the smoking thing. Last semester I had to get up super early for lectures and stayed up late at night drinking. Having a smoke on the way to class helps a lot.Jiggers McCoy wrote:Adjust your schedule so you don't go to sleep with 10+ hours to spare.
