The best i've ever had

Post by EuroSlave »

It was about 6 whole weeks since I had my last drink - I know Heresy!!!, but don't ask. It was time for a drink, I couldn't wait. So when the next Friday came around man I was going to go out and find myself a place that made Manhattans -aka the best cocktail ever but also hard to find in Melbourne.

Found a place and sat down and ordered my drink, the bartender said they use a rye whisky. Not caring what it was made with I waited but as I saw it arrive I was delighted - it was served in a martini glass as for some reason all the good Manhattans i've had have been served in these and all the subpar ones in what wikipedia calls 'Dizzy Cocktail' glasses, a strange phenomenon.

I took a second to look it over; the glass cold but frostless, the cherry sitting patiently in the bottom of the glass, closing my eyes and touching it to my lips was like being reborn. The taste well I can't really describe it but it was so elegantly made, such perfection in a glass a tear came to my eye it was better than sex.

not knowing how to finish this story i'm going to take some more out of this bottle of finlandia and say, may your drinks be made with love, may you enjoy every drop.

I alcohol highway safety class tonight so although it was a late start the beer tasted oh so glorious, the amazing Penguins win didn't hurt.

For me it was probably the first time I had an Innis and Gunn. After finishing the bottle and enjoying every second of it, I put the bottle down and applauded.

heck, the first time I drank a beer, I said, yes. this is my special place. of course, years later, when I had a bourbon, I said, yep, I've died and gone to heaven. doesn't get any better than this. I was like, "all this, and Grumpy too?"

I hope that your next case of beer is skunked, and that somebody pulls your hair

Iron City sucks
Rolling Rock sold out
Primanti Brothers sucks
Sheetz sucks
The midget who slides down the fire pole onto the bar top at Casey's is a dickhead and the "liqueur" he pours into everybody's mouth is really tang and sour mix
Rudy's Army-Navy Store in Monroeville is overpriced and a ripoff

But D's Sixpack and Dogz is cool, though ...

Whiz Khalifa sucks and he's dating a hooker from Delilah's

Do you know how much Mike Richards and Jeff Carter snot she still has on her from getting those guys tittie-faced?

Does Sidney Crosby even like titties?

Or do he and Neal only ask women for fighting advice?

which one did you have. I think the blue is a bit sweet, quite like the red one, but I couldn't have more than four or five of them

A proper made 'up' Manhatten is always served in a martini glass after being shaken.

IPA's are about all the suds I drink anymore, except for Labatt's cans while kayaking, the best is Founder's but I'm having some from the North Peak brewery from Surreal's home town this weekend.

The red one. But you're right, it's not something to drink in bulk, but the best to start a night of drinking with.
