I got a viral stomach infection and was confined to bed for the weekend. Wasn't able to eat for three days. thought going out and drinking might have been imprudent

OK, that's an acceptable explanation, you must really have been sick when you thought drinking wouldn't help. So, correct me if I'm wrong, but you're studying maths, right?

Quantum physics was one of my favourite courses in college, perfect match between mathematics and physics.
