Speaking at a press conference this morning, SA Police Commissioner Gary Burns said alcohol, liquor and tools were among the items detailed in the theft charges.
If you're going to steal some alcohol, fine. We'll look the other way. But stealing alcohol and liquor? This has gone too far.

Tools.

You can steal my tools but leave my booze alone!

Indeed, and you cannot drink my liquor from an old fruit jar.

Fireball Whisky Recalled In 3 Countries Over Antifreeze Ingredient
Fireball puts more propylene glycol in drinks sold in America than Europe

I like this comment a lot:
If you are going to drink whisky that tastes so bad they have to add levels of cinnamon to it equivalent to red hots, the problems started long before they added the PG.

Stupid. Propylene glycol is only dangerous if you are shooting it directly into your veins and even then in relatively large amounts...

This is like saying H2O is bad becuase H2O2 is poisonous.

The single malt Scotch whisky industry is indeed going through a bad patch. There's been a definite noticeable loss in quality with some of the distilleries owned by multinational corporate giants. Some say it's because a shortage of barrels is forcing them to reuse them longer than they used to. Even my beloved baseline Laphroaig 10 has suffered, although the quarter cask is my new favorite for the time being. And don't get me started on Ardbeg, who appear to have a license to print money with each new release.

At least there's still Glenfarclas, with the 105 where the sherry finish is no joke. It will knock your socks off*.

Oh well. Rhubarb is cheap, and what's the harm in a sauna bath.

*60% ABV plays something of a role too

New feature on Travel Channel, Booze Traveler.
Tasting booze all over the world. I anticipate a good show of indulgence. What the Hell, they feature gluttony with Adam Richman and Man vs. Food so why not drunkenness? I think it could sell. Sin sells. Don't let anyone kid you.

I'm going to have to find the booze traveler and lay a beatdown on him. Then insert myself as the new host. Damn, why didn't I think of this. I could be living it up hooching on the Travel Channel's dime.

In more depressing news, they finally released the CCTV of a tragedy in Canada last year. The article and the related link to the video shows the horror of $50,000 high end whisky being destroyed as the shelf holding it collapse.
