Meant as a compliment. Even Hungarians bow down to the drinking prowess of the Finns.

You want punch recipes? Here are more punch recipes than you can handle...Savage wrote:I have the punch bowl and glasses. I have the liquor and mixers. All I lack is the crowd of thirsty punch-drunkards. So few people drink punch, (plain or alcoholic) these days.

I like to drink my beer from a cold mug (my favorite is 36 oz) unless it is in a 24 oz can. I also put the game on mute and play music.

Re: 懐石料理
No pre-booze rituals... but I always know when I've gotten hammered the night before, because I wake up with a fuzzy mouth after neglecting my usually thorough oral health ritual (I married a wonderful woman who used to be a Dental Assistant, she taught me well). No brushing, no flossing, my choppers are lucky if I even remember to wipe them off with a t-shirt. That may be something like a post-booze ritual. Or anti-ritual. Whatever.
I've taken the edge off so many times, I'm round!

I seriously wonder if I am some kind of mutant. I can drink an entire bottle of bourbon, forget where I put my purse, sleep/pass out, buy stuff on ebay, do x-rated things with Grumpy and remember everything (well, except for some things that must be forgotten) forget to set the alarm, and still wake up a few minutes past the crack of dawn, and roll downstairs to drink milk and maybe eat and start my day of boring errands or whatever. Plus I find out that I wrote a couple of chapters of the latest book that no one will ever read. And this is good, because I no longer wake up beneath my desk, as Grumpy is no longer on the road.

Re: 懐石料理
It really depends on what I'm drinking. Alcohol is such a varietal and polyvalent drug, and so many drinks have their own rituals associated with them through cultural traditions, etc.
That being said, when I get a mixed drink with a straw/stirrer, I stir the drink and take the straw out. I usually take a whiff of my wine or whisky before drinking it. If I have a drink out of a tumbler or highball, I'll swish it around the sides for a bit. I guess these aren't really rituals, but w/e.
