My dear fellow! Please immediately award yourself the "Needle Nardle Noo and Bar!

And a hearty "Ying Tong" to you, sir!

Now, if you'd just care to explain why your pistol is smoking...?

It gave up snuff. Dreadful business. Every time it'd sneeze it'd put a hole through the wall of the flat. The neighbors were most annoyed.

I have some not-very-old ones, but someday I'm sure they too will be old. I'm more interested in books on brewing and such, though I always find punch recipes amusing. A lot of the cocktail books I've read seem to be for the semi-dry and always cry out for moderation. Fuck moderation, we drink to get drunk

Ahh, but timing is everything! Sometimes one needs to get fucked up ASAP, and sometimes a leisurely amble down Drunk Alley is what is called for...

not that sort of moderation, they're often full of that coy, "everybody likes a drink, nobody likes a drunk" and "here's a quick way for a lower alcohol drink" or "remember, a binge drinker is......." sort of commentary

The original version? IIRC the print run was something along the lines of 5,000 copies. Rare book.

I remember getting my hands on a Travel-Bar which looked like a typewriter box but actually contained 4 bottles of liquor, cups, and mixing gear. There were also some cocktail guides in there. I was impressed by the amount of booze it told you to stock for a party. They said to reckon 1 bottle for every 3 guests per hour.

I dearly hope that said guests "pre-loaded", if that were the case! After all, you are talking of the era of the three Martini lunch...
