Elliot Ness

"Elliot Ness, The Rise and Fall of an American Hero" Douglas Perry, Viking Books.

A great read, especially the cat and mouse games he played with Al Capone finding and knocking over his breweries and distilleries.

Funny twist and unexpected ending of life story about the guy:

"Foyle said, 'Id have two drinks and he'd have twenty-two, always Cutty Sark. He was a regular at the Old Hickory Tavern in Coudersport, but he'd usually sat by himself and stayed out of conversations. When he had his fill, he would find his way home, settle in the couch in the living room and put on recordings of Paul Robeson reciting Shakespere. He'd listen to the actor's sonorious voice echo around the room until he passed out'".

So the chief Untouchable liked a touch or two. Or Twenty-two, who knew?
