Re: smoking
there's a mason jar down on the shelf with all the other mason jars. this one is special. it doesn't have coffee beans or black beans or red beans. it doesn't have white rice or wild rice or brown rice. it doesn't have paper clips or thumb tacks or rubber bands or change from the dryer. it doesn't have dried chiles or dried mushrooms or coconut flour. it doesn't have turbinado sugar or brown sugar or white sugar. it doesn't have sea salt or kosher salt or table salt. it's not an empty jar waiting for chicken stock or beef stew or chili. it's a full jar and when you open it, it smells green and dank and skunky. i like that mason jar but i let it stay down there with all the other mason jars because it fits in so nice. also, some of the empty mason jars, i fill them up with beer or strong drink and then i drink what i put in them. useful things, mason jars.Mr. Viking wrote:I wishtreetop wrote:reefer?

Re: smoking
Sadly, I still smoke. Have tried more than a few times to quit. It's nasty, expensive, unhealthy and altogether unpleasant. Still, nothing goes much better with a cocktail than a smoke. :(

Re: smoking
It's a weird thing. I don't smoke anymore, but that could be a response to smoking myself unhealthy in my late teens and early twenties. Most of my friends never smoked in the first place, and still don't drink as much as I do.
I was one of the lucky, yet stupid smokers who never found it to be a habit. I'll still smoke the occasional victory cigar at weddings or Conclaves or birthdays, but that's it. Ultimately, I decided that it costs too much to be a regular smoker. Booze is expensive enough in Scotland (and getting dearer each day), so that'll do for me.
All being said, I do miss smoking in pubs, and I even miss standing in the pouring rain with friends, fumbling desperately for a lighter.

Re: smoking
I intend to die with a cig in one hand and a bottle in the other. I actually stopped pursuing woo of a woman because she quit smoking.

Re: smoking
My dear chap, nicotine is the most addictive drug there is, and one of the most fun.
And, as Bill Hicks pointed out, "Non-smokers die too. Every fucking day!"

Re: smoking
Yup. I enjoyed smoking nearly as much as I enjoy drinking. It was all about flavour.
I'd probably still smoke if it wasn't for my silly "get fit" plans.
